The European Data Protection Supervisor has expressed serious concerns about the conditions attached to Microsoft’s contracts. In order to ensure that they can benefit from the new, more favourable TSOs, companies should review Microsoft’s cloud-based contracts they have entered into.
Since the GDPR came into force, cloud players have had to review their tools and redefine certain parts of their contracts. Microsoft is one of the most recent examples.
After the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) expressed serious concerns about the terms of the contract signed by the European Union, Microsoft committed to react quickly. In the end, the Redmond-based firm publicly committed to reviewing its contracts. The new version of its Online Services Terms (OST) came into force at the beginning of 2020.
